Here we combine two very popular attractions in one day adventure. You start the day with a Lake Mývatn Classic tour at 8 am, an amazing journey through an area of extreme contrasts, bird life, flora, geothermal activity, and saga.
We begin our day by stopping at Goðafoss Waterfall on our way to Lake Mývatn. Goðafoss is a picturesque waterfall in Skjálfandafljót River. The first stop by Lake Mývatn is at the pseudo-craters of Skútustaðagígar. From there we visit all the highlights of the area, such as Hverir Mud Pools, Grjótagjá Rift, Dimmuborgir Lava Fields and much more. Our last stop by Lake Mývatn before our return to Akureyri is the Mývatn Nature Baths, where we enjoy a relaxing time in a completely natural pool of geothermal water based in the middle of lava fields with a great view over the area.
When back in Akureyri we will drop you off at the Akureyri Harbor where you will embark on a whale watching sail in Eyjafjörður Fjord. You sail on a specially designed Whale Watching Ship in Eyjarfjörður Fjord, Iceland’s deepest fjord, and home of Humpback Whales, Dolphins and Blue Whales. After a three hour tour, you come back to Akureyri around 8 pm. Either in time for a dinner or a flight back to Reykjavík.
