Queen Daenerys Targaryen, the mother of dragons should feel right at home in these phenomenal geological conditions. Located in Sólheimajökull glacier, the cave is very accessible only 158 km from Reykjavík. 

This tour is the perfect opportunity for you to enjoy two popular Iceland expedition activities, blue ice caves and glacier hiking. You will start by hiking along Sólheimajökull glacier, in the breathtaking landscape you will see rough ice ridges, blue sinkholes and glacial crevasses. Hiking for approximately 1,5 hour and finally advancing down a low valley you will enter a totally different world.

The hike will end at a hidden place on the glacier where you will enter a world unlike anything else. Inside this ancient massive ice is a incredible natural ice cave. The clear, sparkling diamond walls and ceiling create quite a fairytale experience for all your senses. Even though the ice is a massive hundreds of meters thick its is transparent like glass and when the light hits the cave, it fills the it with all shades of azure and cyan blue tones… A magical natural sight. Along with the blue colour pallete the cave is also decorated by black trails of volcanic ash from ancient and recent eruptions.
